Milo Jeffries, M.D.
of East Troy found peace of natural causes Tuesday April 9, 2002 at Kiwanis Nuring Home- East Troy, at 94 yrs of age.
Born to parents Willard Guy and Mabel nee Cummings in Decater County, Iowa Leon, Iowa on October 29, 1907. Milo attended Nothwestern University, Chicago, and Interned at Chicago’s Wesley Memorial Hospital from 1936-1941. Then practiced general surgery in Chicago with his Father. In 1937 Milo married Wilma Easley, a Surgical Nurse and lived in Marshalltown, Iowa from 1948 to 1979. He servived his country in the Army from 1941-1945 as a Medical Unit Commander, 33rd Infantry during the New Guinea and Luzon campaigns. And was awarded the Bronze Star for Bravery under fire. After the war he specialized in OB-GYN in the Marshalltown Medical Clinic for 31yrs. where he delivered 5,000-6,000 Marshalltown babies.
Milo was a member of the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association as well as First congregational Church in Marshalltown.
He is survived by his son: David Jeffries of East Troy, WI., daughters: Susan Weldon of East Troy, WI. and Kathleen Ann Jones, of Georgetown, Tx. and 5 Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday April 13, 2002 from 5-8 PM. Funeral Sevices will be held Saturday at 10 AM. All at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Ia. interment Rose Hill Cemetery to follow.
