“Millie”
(nee Bundy), 87, went home to God March 28, 2015. Born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Harold and Elizabeth (nee Phipps) Bundy. Preceded in death by her parents, her cherished husband Laurants “Steve,” son Frederick, grandson Jimmy Gengler, sister Jeannette Tyrka and brother, Jack Bundy.
Beloved mother of Susan (Armin) Liermann, Eva (the late Daniel Franecki), Patrick (Barb) and Kit Gengler of the home. Grandmother of Andrew and Stephan Gengler and Nicholas Bazydlo, Great-grandmother of Brayden Gengler-Michaels and Jackson and Teagan Bazydlo.
Millie grew up in Hammond, Indiana where she later worked at American Steel as a switchboard operator, took voice lessons, and participated in recitals with her friend, Ethel. She also became a member of the Florentine Opera Company.
In 1952 she married the love of her life and moved to Milwaukee. She spent many happy years singing in the St. Margaret Mary Church choir and school musicals with her friend, Betty. In addition to music her interests included sewing, Egyptology, archeology, American history and traveling with her family.
Millie is survived by her sister-in-law, Frieda Bundy, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A sincere thank you to the staff of The Aster Retirement Community, Cottage Grove. Your kind and compassionate care of our mother, as well as her children, was very much appreciated. You are family to us.
Visitation Tuesday, March 31 from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home and Wednesday at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 W. Cold Spring Rd. from 9:15 AM until 10:00 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery
