Found peace in his heavenly home on January 10, 2016 at the age of 81. Born on March 25, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late John and Florence (nee Schmidt) Foren. Most loving husband of Rose (nee Kawalske). Proud and loving father of Ty (Jodi) Foren and Thea (Tim) Flasch. Cherished grandpa of Brittany, Brianna, Trevor, Drew and Harper. Brother of Beverly (nee Berghoffer) Perrault and the late Darryl Foren (Nancy). Further survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caring neighbors.
Michael proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He had a diverse work history including the U.S. Postal Service and became a Milwaukee County Firefighter. He continued a career spanning 30 years with Milwaukee County where he retired as a Supervisor of Grounds Maintenance. He was an active AFL-CIO member and Union Steward. During his retirement, he went to work for the Milwaukee Brewers as a Supervisor in charge of Game Day Parking and Large Group Tailgate parties.
Michael served his community as a Boy Scout Troop Leader and Baseball Coach, leading youth to personal growth and team championships. He was an avid bowler and American Bowling Congress League Champion.
With a passion for the outdoors he loved going upnorth, hunting, fishing gardening, bird watching, grilling and spending quality time with family and friends in his backyard. Greatly enjoyed traveling and exploring new destinations with his beloved wife.
Visitation will be held at the FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9:00 a.m., with Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
