Palmer, Melissa Jane,
Melissa Jane Palmer died peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 59 on December
11, 2011. She was born to Harold Roy Palmer and Florence Evelyn Palmer on December
15, 1951. Melissa graduated from John Marshall High School and had a wide and varied
career in management. She worked for JoAnn Fabric stores, McDonalds, Seaquist
Closures and Neil Palmer and Associates. She also worked for Office Depot.
Preceded in death by her father, Harold Roy Palmer, and her brother Scott Palmer, Melissa is survived by her mother Florence Miller and stepfather Willard Miller, her son Nicholas Shannon Last, her daughter Caitlin Last, granddaughter Addison Last, brothers and sisters Neil Jill Varick Palmer, Camille Bill Banks, Keith Palmer, Marilyn Bruce Linde and Rick Barb Miller. She is further survived by loving nieces and nephews and her friend Gary Last. Melissa was a passionate lover of animals, especially those in distress. She was a creative seamstress, blessing her family with many beautiful gifts, as well as a skilled handiwoman, repairing and remodeling her homes. Everyone looked forward to her Christmas fudge. Her affection, humor and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation on Saturday, December 17 at 1 p.m., with a Memorial service at 2 p.m., at Heritage Funeral Home, 16880 W. National Ave., New Berlin.
