Matthew Joseph
Bissell

Matthew J. Bissell 62, passed away on January 07, 2024, in South Milwaukee, WI. Son of George and Florence Bissell, he was born September 28th, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from South Division High School in 1979. Directly after high school, he started his career with SBC telephone company as a Computer IT Tech. He continued his career for many years through the transitions from Wisconsin Bell, Ameritech, and currently known as AT&T. In recent years, he did home remodeling, lawn care, and snow removal for Don’s Services where he truly found his passion and made some amazing friends and clients. Matthew was preceded to heaven by his parents George and Florence Bissell, loving brother James Bissell, nephew Chad Bissell, and Bradley Grabner who was like a grandson to him. He is survived by his wife Gail Bissell; daughters Tanya Bissell and Tiffany Bissell; grandchildren – Anastasia Tominsek, Maxwel Tominsek, Deim Bissell, Channing Bissell, Raina Bissell, and Alessia Bissell; siblings – Nicholas (Susan) Bissell, Mary Beth (Gene Francis) Bissell, John (Anna) Bissell, sister-in-law Kathy Bissell, and many other loving relatives and friends.

While we lost our beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. He was a rock to many, a master of sarcasm and witty timing to others, and even a glorious pain in the neck to what I’m sure is a select few. No matter what happened to you in your lives, once you were marked important to him, he’d be by your side. Matthew was so much more than just a dad, a grandpa, and a brother. Though to us that was his biggest role, he was also a friend, a cousin, a stand-in paternal figure to the fatherless, and the list goes on and on.

We invite you to join us to Celebrate his life on January 20th, 2024 at the Bucyrus Club in the Founders Room, located at 1919 12th Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI, 53172 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. It was his wish that we laugh, reminisce and smile together during this time.

A Private mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Parish on January 24th, 2024. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and mass to follow. The parish is located at 9303 S Chicago Rd., Oak Creek, WI, 53154
