Mary Banach

(nee Rademacher)

Died unexpectedly on March 11th. Mary was the daughter of Gertrude and Erv Rademacher (deceased). She attended St. Mary’s Academy, Carroll College and UWM earning a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in education. She was the loving wife of James Banach, mom to Christopher (Becca), Andrew (deceased) and Gregory (Sarah). Proud to be the Nana of Audrey, Harper, Bennett and Del. Sister-in-law to Dody & Jim Marriott and Gary and Lori Banach. Aunt to Evan, Geoffrey (deceased) and Emily Marriott. She was also happy to be called “mom” by Greg Jones and Richie Galonski. Mary taught at Sacred Heart of Jesus (now St. Martin of Tours) in Franklin, and Saint Rafael the Archangel Schools in Milwaukee. Mary loved family & friends, children and teaching. She and Jim served the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Deacon Community for over 20 yours. She loved to travel and was always at home Up North. She had a way of making a difference in your life and will be missed by so many. Memorials to Milwaukee County Zoo, Special Olympics Wisconsin, or buy and read a book to a child in your life.

Mary’s life celebration will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 60th and Oklahoma Ave on Tuesday, March 24th with visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and the Catholic Funeral Mass at 6:00 pm. Private interment will be done at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The details in the funeral home setting are pretty unique for a wedding theme. What inspired that choice for the shoot?

Mary has always been there for Gary and I no matter for what or why and we may not have seen each other more than once a year but we knew she (and Jim) were never more than a phone call away. I will miss her warm hugs, laughter and genuine interest on how we were both doing. She gave me some great advice that got me through some very difficult times and I will carry that advice with me for the rest of my life. I’m so lucky to have her as my “one of us” in-laws (if you know, you know) and it’s a privilege to be a part of your family. Love and miss you very much Mary.
