Mary “Amy” Wagner

Mary “Amy” Wagner, age 84, entered her heavenly home on May 8, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Milwaukee, WI surrounded by loved ones after she courageously dealt with a variety of serious health issues. The pain and suffering she endured for the past few years is now gone. She was born on May 4, 1941.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Betty (Burgermeister) Wagner and her brother Louis Wagner.

She is survived by her nephew Todd Wagner, his daughter Trisha, and her best friend of 61 years, Norma Ewert, along with other friends and neighbors. She was also a great friend of Cliff and Barb Ewert’s family and was an “aunt” for their children and grandchildren as an adopted family member.

Travel was an avid adventure for her as Mary and Norma travelled over-seas and throughout the United States, especially with annual visits to California. She shared many of their exciting travel experiences with family and friends.

Mary was always a sports fan, playing softball for 30 years. She was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and regularly watched them on TV or at Miller Park. She also loved the Milwaukee Bucks and regularly attended their home games for many years. She was also an enthusiastic Packer fan and regularly watched their games on television.

Mary was employed at EMC Insurance for more than 40 years and had great knowledge of the insurance industry, which she used to help people.

Funeral services will be held at Fairview Lutheran Church, 137 N. 66th St., Milwaukee, WI on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00am with services at 11:00am. Mary’s resting place will be at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Fairview Lutheran Church will be appreciated.

Amy was a very special friend to my wife Jackie Koch and step-daughter Julie Abuya. For decades Jackie and Julie often enjoyed celebrating events, sharing tickets or just being together somewhere with Amy and ‘big sister’ Norma Ewert . She will be dearly missed.

For 60 years Amy was my “adopted cousin” and later after many family cross country vacations together, she became my “adopted sister“. She is one of the most generous, fun, loving, and adventurous people I ever knew! She was a kind , joyful, and loving person and one I will miss dearly forever.
