Mary was my Godmother – “Kuma” in Croatian). I am so blessed to have had her in my life. She was smart, funny, practical and so pretty. She made you feel loved just being with her.
Years ago when my son (who was maybe 5 at the time) met her (and being unfamiliar with Godmothers, he asked her if she was a fairy godmother and she said I suppose I am. And he asked if she was magic. And she replied “yes – my love is my magic.” That was my Kuma. Special, endearing and unforgettable. I will always miss her but I’m so grateful to have been her Godchild.
