Tarachow
Marvin Tarachow passed away on May 30, 2025 at the age of 94 years. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 6, 1930 and was married to his beloved wife, Doris (nee Light) in Chicago, Illinois in 1958. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Mildred (nee Jacob) Tarachow, older brother Eugene Tarachow, sister-in-law Dorothy (nee Berger) Tarachow, and nephews Andrew Leynse and Steven Tarachow.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years Doris; loving children Glen (Cassandra) Tarachow, Wendy Tarachow, Alice Tarachow, and Eve (Aron) Rubinoff; cherished grandchildren Brom Tarachow, Ty Rubinoff, and Olivia Rubinoff; niece Ellen (Larry) Rowen, and nephew Jim (Wendy) Leynse. Marvin will be fondly remembered by cousins and friends.
Marvin served in the Army Artillery in Korea from 1950 – 1952. He received an honorable discharge after he served another 8 years in the Army Reserve. He earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree from the Chicago Technical College. After working as an architect in Milwaukee for many years, he began working for the City of Milwaukee in the Department of City Development and Housing – retiring in 1993.
Marvin loved his family, his cats, gardening, and music. He played the drums and marimba in his own dance band “The Nite Owls” when he was in High School
Private family graveside services were held at Second Home Cemetery with Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer officiating. If desired, memorial contributions to Temple Menorah, 9363 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53223 are greatly appreciated.
