Marlene Leonard

Marlene Leonard (nee Rohrscheib) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of stories and memories that will be retold for generations. Marlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved her husband of over 65 years, Floyd, along with her daughters Jane (Paul) Soto and Maureen (Kevin) Marks. She was also the very proud grandmother of Ryan and Brayden Marks, dear aunt of Jean Oberle and Dave Hynek, and sister-in-law of Norbert Hynek. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her parents, Herbert and Hilda Rohrscheib, her brother Herb Rohrscheib, Jr., and her sister Amber Hynek.

Marlene was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 9, 1935. She proudly shared stories of life growing up in the bustle of the city. After marrying the love of her life, Floyd, she traded the city streets of Milwaukee for the country roads of Oak Creek. Together, they built a life filled with many family adventures, dedicated community service and deeply rooted friendships. Throughout her years, Marlene worked at a variety of secretarial jobs, including Meadowview Elementary School and Oak Creek High School. She spent the majority of her career at MATC South Campus.

Marlene was an exceptional cook and took great pride in the kitchen. She also cherished the simple joys of biking and crafting with neighborhood friends, traveling to beautiful beaches, and dominating the bowling lanes with her competitive spirit and sharp aim. Marlene brought enthusiasm and heart to everything she did. Above all, Marlene will be remembered for her love of people, her keen eye for detail, and her gift for turning everyday life into a story worth telling. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and stories that will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Service will take place for Marlene at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154, on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service begins at 11:30. A private interment will take place later in the day at Oakwood Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s Hospital are greatly appreciated.
