Margaret Marleen Morgan was born March 22,1944, in Lincoln, Nebraska and died peacefully at Zilber Family Hospice on January 22, 2026. She devoted her life to family, faith, and service to others. Marleen spent 24 years as a dedicated teacher, touching countless young lives with her patience, creativity, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
An active member of her faith communities Marleen lived her faith through action. She served in several different capacities within the church, ensuring that those in need felt cared for. This included establishing a much-needed food pantry, in Omaha, as well as a program that provided sack lunches once a month for the Gathering, a not-for-profit kitchen helping to battle food insecurity in Milwaukee’s inner city. She also shared her talents through the church’s prayer shawl ministry, knitting shawls and beanies for charitable organizations, and by sewing clothing for dolls donated to young children. Marleen was an avid sewer and quilter. Many of her pieces were crafted especially for the person who received them, and her family and friends will treasure those handmade gifts. Marleen was very active in a variety of women’s groups through her churches as well as her condominium book clubs.
After her grandson’s diagnosis Marleen was active in the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation and co-chair of the Hemophilia Foundation Gala for two years and helped raise a significant amount of money to support the Foundation’s work. Marleen and her husband Dwight have been strong supporters of the Arts in the greater Milwaukee area.
Marleen is preceded in death by her son Scott, parents Leah and Lemoine Johnson, her brother Lee. She is survived by her husband Dwight, sister Sande, son Damon (Daylene), daughter Marcie, and daughter-in-law Michelle, as well as her grandchildren, Ryan (Becca), Jason (Greta), Amber, Chelsey (Kenny), Erik, Aidan, Natalie, Maisie, Jaxon, Tych (Courtney), and Tobi, and great grandchildren Ellie, Evie, Christopher and Eliza.
Marleen will be remembered for her generous spirit, quiet strength, and her love for her family and friends. As Dylan Thomas wrote, “Do not go gently into that good night”, Marleen did not. She met life’s final chapter with grace, courage, and faith.

Dwight sorry to hear about Marleen. Ellen and I extend our deepest condolences
Dwight, so sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a wonderful lady..🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dwight,
Sorry for the loss of such an important person in your life. And an important contributor to society. You are such a lucky man she chose you to spend her life with.
Blessings to you in her fond memory.
Dearest Dwight, I treasure the memories I have of Marleen. Her eyes lit up when conversations turned to children, when she was listening to a favorite music group performing at St. Rita Square, when she was dancing at birthday parties with you, and during so many other special gatherings here at St. Rita Square. I treasure, too, her tenderness with Kris. Kris always knows when she is safe with folks. Marleen showed her that she was in a safe space. That means much to Dan and me. I have several other very special memories from the last few weeks of our times together. She was much loved. Peace, Jackie
Dwight so very sorry to learn of the passing of Marleen. She was a gentle person generous with her talents, skills, and interests and will be missed. She was your partner in your stalwart support of North High School, and attended our many reunions from distant Milwaukee.
Just know that I care and share in your sadness. My deepest condolences and prayers to you and your family.
