Mariam Eleanor Smith Fink
Mariam Eleanor Fink, 82, of Greenfield, Wisconsin passed away June 3, 2010 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was born August 28, 1927 to Roy Orville and Mabel Martin Smith in Viola, Wisconsin.
Mariam grew up in Viola and was a graduate of Viola Public High School class of 1945, graduating as Salutatorian of her class.
After high school, Mariam worked at Camp McCoy and later as a keypunch operator for the Trane Company in LaCrosse and for Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee.
Mariam married Maynard Kenneth Fink on August 19, 1950 in the United Brethren Church, Viola, Wisconsin. To this union three children were born, Susan Lynn, Lori Gail and Brian Kenneth Fink. She was an avid reader, a very talented seamstress, upholsterer and crafter, and had been very involved with the lives of her children and extended family.
Mariam is survived by her husband and children, two grandchildren: Rebecca Lynn Winiarski Beaumont Andrew and Timothy Paul Winiarski, two brothers: Rex Martin and Keith Orville Smith. She is also survived by many relatives and friends.
A memorial service honoring the life of Mariam will be held in Viola on July 10, 2010. The burial will be in the Viola Public Cemetery.
Note, Mariam’s middle name Eleanor, was in honor of her two grandmothers: Ella Ekleberry Martin and Nora Belle Clark Smith.
