Born December 19, 1946 in Leon Guanajuato Mexico, to her parents were Jesus Pacheco  and Zenaida Lara.  She grew up with  two brothers Juan and Jesus Pacheco.

As a child she learned how to sew and enjoyed making different outfits she could wear.  Maria was especially proud of learning shorthand writing.  Maria’s formal education took her through high school.

Maria married Pablo Saavedra, he was a childhood neighbor. One of  the happiest days of her life was the day she said “I do” and has been a devoted wife for over 60 years.   Maria and Pablo married in February 1965 and started their family.  They were blessed with seven children.  Juanita, Raymundo, Pablo Jr., Jaime, Cenaida, Habacuc, and Ricardo.

Maria was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed the company of her children and gathered together every Sunday.  Part of the housekeeping was caring for her plants and she had a passion for collecting hand towels and curtains.  She also enjoyed shopping at the thrift store every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Maria was humble, she had a great sense of humor, and was kind and respectful of others. She also enjoyed her peace and quiet and taking long walks. Maria enjoyed traveling to Mexico for the winter months and spending time with close friends that adored her.

Maria’s faith was important for her and she enjoyed singing at church with the women’s group.  She loved to listen to Christian music and “Hoy Mas Que Nunca” by Marino was her favorite.  She liked to joke about the song “Que Se Mueran Los Feos”.

Maria passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the age of 79. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Pablo Saavedra.  She is the cherished mother of Juanita (Saul) Ramos, Raymundo (Mirna) Saavedra, Pablo Jr. (Brenda) Saavedra, Jaime (Patricia) Saavedra, Cenaida (Jose) Vazquez, Habacuc (Nazareth) Saavedra, and Ricardo (Araceli) Saavedra.  She is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends
