Madelyn L. Boisvert (nee Janikowski)
Went home to the Lord on May 3rd, 2026, at the age of 75. Devoted husband to Gerald for 52 years. Dear Mom of Joseph “Joey” (Crystal), and Andrew “Andy” (Kathleen). Loving grandma to Gabrielle (Gabi) and JJ.
Madelyn was born in Cudahy, Wisconsin on September 5th, 1950, and lived a life centered on love, family, and meaningful experiences. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Gerald, on September 21, 1974, beginning a partnership that would span decades and be filled with shared adventures and unwavering companionship.
Together, Madelyn and Gerald were blessed with two sons, born in 1980 and 1981, who were the pride and joy of her life. Madelyn’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her home and into her work. After graduating high school, she began her career as a nurse’s aide at Trinity Hospital, now known as Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication. She later worked briefly as a cashier and baker, but her true calling was found in serving her community as the kitchen manager for Oak Creek Public Schools, where she took great pride in nourishing generations of students.
Madelyn and Gerald shared a deep love of travel and adventure. Their journeys took them across the world, including memorable trips to the Netherlands to visit their dear friend Andrew, and a scenic car trip through France with friends Daniel and Emmanoll. They explored the charm of Bruges and experienced the energy of London along the English Channel. Closer to home, their travels spanned North America, often tied to Gerry’s work which consisted of setting up for conventions and expositions.
A shared passion for the open road was reflected in their love of Corvette cars—owning four over the years—which carried them on countless trips to Canada, Missouri, and beyond. Madelyn deeply cherished her and Gerry’s trips to Gulf Shores as well as their many travels with Virgil, Sharon, Dan, and Cindy.
Madelyn also treasured her time spent in Phoenix visiting Bob and Carol. Though Carol was her cousin, their bond was that of sisters—deep, enduring, and full of love.
Madelyn will be remembered for her warmth, and the joy she found in both everyday moments and grand adventures. May she rest in God’s everlasting peace.
I feel truly blessed to have Madelyn in my life. For over twenty years we saw each other every day. Madelyn, Sue and I would walk, no matter what the weather was like. We also shared Easter dinner together in Florida or Gulf Shores. We enjoyed when Madelyn and Gerry would visit us in Eagle River. Your personality and your great positive outlook was an inspiration to me. You left me with such wonderful memories. I will always remember you, M. Love You.
Madelyn was preceded in death by her brother Gene Janikowski and her sister Denise Krewal. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Judy Heinrich; niece Aqua Heinrich; sister-in-law Pat Janikowski; nephew Jim Janikowski; niece Jennifer (Curt and great nephew Michael) Eggert; and brother-in-law Todd (Bernie) Krewal.
A beautiful obit of Madelyn and so true! She enjoyed family & friends along with travel adventures! Time’s spent with Madelyn were always a joy. She had a kind, thoughtful and very positive personality. I am thankful to have shared times together in our travels, at the farm together, and with Dan & Linda Danek at home and in our travels. She enjoyed a good game of cards too! God bless you Madelyn. You will be missed.
