Some people come into your life for a day, and make a lasting impression on you. Mom and I met Linda standing in line during Elvis week at the casino. We shared our table, she invited us to lunch. We chatted and shared our stories. Linda was a real character: friendly and vibrant, out-going and TOTALLY fun! She was open, caring, thoughtful and giving, (she had taken a bracelet off her wrist and put it on mine!) She filled with an optimism that just seemed to have no end. Mom and I even had the opportunity to meet her daughter. We exchanged phone numbers with Linda, in the hope of staying in touch. Every time Mom and i went to the casino, we would scan the crowd for her. We spoke of Linda often, and wondered how she was doing. We prayed for the best, and never spoke of the worst, because that was how Linda would have it. This year, just before Elvis week, an internet search for Linda broke our hearts. Mom and I shared less than 4 days with Linda, but we will remember her for the rest of our lives. I am glad the Lord allowed our life paths to cross.
