Lenore Rudolf

The world traveler embarked on her final journey January 14, 2024.

Born in Bay View, WI, in 1926 to the late Robert and Ida Heidtke. She was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Totten and brother Robert “Bobby” Heidtke.

Lenore is survived by her daughters Linda (Todd) Barteck and Lori (Norton) Rudolf, her cherished granddaughter Katie Barteck, her nieces and nephews: Roger (Ann) Knauer, Beverly Knauer, Pat Caudill, Jen (Mike) Jagielski, Jim (Laura) Rudolf, Lynn Schallock, and David Caudill as well as dear friends.

Lenore dreamed of being an opera singer, but by her own admission, “her asthma and lack of dedication prevented it.” Lenore lived life on her terms and did as she pleased, indulging her passions for music, dancing, movies, and especially travel and chocolate.

Lenore held many secretarial positions in the Milwaukee area since 1943 but retired from the Oak Creek Engineering Department in 1990. She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Oak Creek.

Lenore’s family is grateful for the compassionate comfort provided by VITAS at the Ruth Hospice House.

Lenore thanks Autumn Leaves of Franklin for the expensive lesson illustrating why care providers should never be entrusted with permission to withdraw automatic debit payments.

In accordance with her wishes, Lenore will be laid to rest during a private family committal service graveside at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:

Rest in peace Aunt Lenore. I can’t even fathom all the changes she went through during her life over 97 years. She loved travel and often sent me postcards and letters that I looked so forward to. I wanted to grow up and travel like she did. We were going to go on a trip together one day, but that day never came to pass. She was always kind and supportive to me and I will remember her fondly.. My condolences to Lori and Linda and all those who loved her.

Godspeed Aunt Lenore. We shared a love for traveling, family, animals, and chocolate. Never enough chocolate. I always admired your energy and enthusiasm for life. You will be missed. Save a seat for me at Heaven’s dessert table.
