Madison-LaVerne C. ?Lovey? Kozminski, age71, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 23, 1934, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Charles and Jeannie Wanasek. LaVerne graduated from Bayview High School, Milwaukee in 1952. She was married to Gilbert Kozminski on May 28, 1955. She was a stay at home mother until her youngest daughter entered high school. LaVerne then worked at Prudential Insurance Company for 25 years. She volunteered at the West Madison Senior Coalition, Meals on Wheels and the American Cancer Society. Lovey was passionate about her family and friends. She loved attending her granddaughter?s dance and music recitals, school plays and athletic events she was their biggest fans, and spoiled them to her heart?s content. LaVerne enjoyed traveling with friends and her daughters and their families, and treasured many lazy days at the cabin in Hayward. She belonged to several bridge groups, enjoyed flowers and gardening, walking, biking, cooking, decorating, and bowling. LaVerne had a great love for all animals. She is survived by her three daughters, Judy friend, Dave of Madison, Jeanne Warren Sarbacker of Middleton, and Jaclyn Brian Carey of Eagan, MN. four granddaughters, Kelsi and Ashley Sarbacker, and Morgan and Shannon Carey. LaVerne also leaves behind her cat Miss Molly and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at 11 am at ST THOMAS AQUINAS CAHTOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison with Monsignor Terrance Connors presiding. There will be a luncheon in the church following mass. Private inurnment of her cremains for the immediate family will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee. Family and friends may call on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Memorial may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave., Room K4/630, Madison, WI 53792, or a charity of donor?s choice. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the care and support from Hospice, as well as Dr. Howard Bailey and Dr. Steven Attia. Your kindness will always be remembered. Also, thank you to Milli, Linda and Joyce for making it possible for Mom to remain at home per her wishes.
