Ken and his parents lived on the other corner on the other end of the block. His parents were part of the “crew” who did so many home projects. It didn’t matter what needed to be done, there was someone to help. Whether you needed a welder, a carpenter, an electrician or a sheet metal person, one of the neighbors was there to help. Of course that always lead to a backyard barbecue.
Ken was seven years or so younger than I so I really didn’t know him well. My mother would get a visit at the house every so often from Ken as he was on patrol in the “old” neighborhood. That was always rather special for mom. Thanks Ken.
My sympathies to the family. Even though we don’t know each other directly, we are connected in knowing Ken.

We used to live down the block from Ken and Diane. Since my husband was a carpenter, Ken would sometimes borrow tools from him. Well one time he borrowed his nail gun. Not a good thing. Ken nailed two of his fingers together. We told him from then on no more power tools. We also spent many New Year’s Eves with Kmichiks and Kulpas. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
