Oldenburg, Karen Sue
Passed away unexpectedly April 8, 2014 at the age of 54. Beloved sister of Jon (Valerie) Oldenburg, Anne (Brian Larson) Oldenburg, and Kurt (Debbie) Oldenburg. Loving aunt of Sam, Hannah, and Alex. Preceded in death by her parents Russell W. and Grace Oldenburg. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, from 10 AM – 11 AM, in the Landmark Chapel at Forest Home Cemetery (2405 W. Forest Home Ave) with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 AM.

Karen recently retired as a Milwaukee Public School music teacher where she taught for 35 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to VanderCook College of Music or Civic Music Association of Milwaukee.

Karen and I worked together at Rufus King Middle School. She was so kind, caring, and loving. She helped me so much. I will miss her. kris Uitts, MPS music teacher.

I studied for a Music Education degree with Karen at Alverno College and was a member of Gamma Gamma chapter of Delta Omicron Music Fraternity with her. She was a fun person and dedicated music teacher. I wish she would have had some time to enjoy her retirement. A memorial in Karen’s name has been made to the Collegiate Scholarship Fund of Zeta Delta Alumni Chapter of Delta Omicron. My sympathy to Karen’s family. We lost contact for over 40 years but had just recently connected this past year over, what else, music:) Come to find out we share the exact same birthdate February 17, 1960 !
