I studied for a Music Education degree with Karen at Alverno College and was a member of Gamma Gamma chapter of Delta Omicron Music Fraternity with her. She was a fun person and dedicated music teacher. I wish she would have had some time to enjoy her retirement. A memorial in Karen’s name has been made to the Collegiate Scholarship Fund of Zeta Delta Alumni Chapter of Delta Omicron. My sympathy to Karen’s family. Judith Holterman, President of Zeta Delta and Zeta Delta members.

I worked with Karen at 3 MPS schools since 1991. She brought her love of music, orchestra and band to each. I will miss her silly Mort FB posts. Rest in peace, my friend. You will be greatly missed.

We lost contact for over 40 years but had just recently connected this past year over, what else, music:) Come to find out we share the exact same birthdate February 17, 1960 ! We had made tentative plans to reunite for dinner to celebrate our 55th bdays next year… God speed Karen and thank you for giving me the chance, how brief it may have been, to catch a glimpse of your life
