June Griesell

(Greenfield) – Clara June (nee Heinen) Griesell (CJ) born December 16, 1921 entered into Eternal Life April 7, 2023 at the age of 101 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born and raised in Random Lake, Wisconsin where her parents, Harry and Daisy Heinen, were the proprietors of the hotel built by her grandparents. “Butz” loved growing up in Random Lake and her affection for her hometown never faded. In addition to working at the hotel she was an avid sportswoman and a former Miss Sheboygan County.

June married Edward Griesell in 1944 and they moved to Milwaukee, where she raised two daughters, Barbara (the late Bud) Cialdini and Mary (Ron) Klopfer. She was a devoted and loving mother to her girls, a special grandmother to Andrea, Kristin (Todd) Lindblom, David (Jenni) Cialdini, David (Tanya) Staples and the sweetest “Nana” to her 9 great children Allison, Jessica, Ryan, Evan, Kate, Josie, Marissa, Gina and Rachel. When asked about the secret to her long life, June would always respond “I enjoy life. I have the best family”.

June had many friends throughout her life and was a proud retiree of Rexnord. She made the most of her retirement years with her family, friends and neighbors. She loved traveling, her garden, and all local sports. Mom loved the Green Bay Packers almost as much as she loved her family (she was a proud stockholder). Sanibel Island (the Surfrider) held a special spot in her heart; she had many happy memories (and shells) of time spent there.

Our Mom’s faith was an important part of her life. Services will be at Mother of Perpetual Help Congregation (formerly MQH), 2322 South 106th St. on Monday, April 24, 2023. Visitation begins at 10:00am, Mass at 11:30am.
