June Glienke, born Elizabeth June Gilbert on June 1, 1918 in Palmyra, passed away peacefully September 4th. As a young woman she worked in NML insurance until she met and married Edward Glienke July 3rd 1948. They raised three children in Milwaukee, Paul (Kristen) or Plover, Joyce (John) Marlier, San Luis Obispo California, and Philip (Susan), Poughkeepsie NY. She was a longtime member of United Methodist Church of West Allis. June enjoyed family vacations, her card clubs, church circle and working as a voter volunteer. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Ed and her youngest son Philip. She is survived by Paul (Kristen) and Joyce (John Marlier) and six wonderful grandchildren. June battled many medical issues later in her life and always came back strong. She enjoyed her friends and caregivers and always was friendly and kind. She will be sadly missed. Visitation will be held from 12- 1pm Tuesday September 13, followed by a short service at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home on 66th and Oklahoma in Milwaukee. Burial will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at hospice and Wellington Place in Stevens Point.
