Petzold, Judith Louise (nee Rathke)

76, of New Berlin, WI found eternal peace on Sept 21, 2019 at Pineview in Fredonia. She was born to the late Viola (Stuart) and Hilbert F Rathke on Dec 26, 1942.

Judith is survived by her husband of 58 years John, two children, grandchildren and a number of loving relatives. Memorial service to be held Sunday,  October 6, 2019 at Star of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in New Berlin, WI. Visitation from 1:00 -2:30 with a service to follow at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family appreciated.

Judie was a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School, class of 1960. There she met her future husband John Petzold. Judie began teaching preschoolers Sunday School at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Allis and continued to teach at Star of Bethlehem for more than 40 years. Judie also enjoyed singing in the choir and visiting with ladies of the congregation.
At home Judie loved gardening and canning her own vegetables. Christmas always brought rhubarb bread made from her garden. Judie fought a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and fought tough until she lost the battle to cancer. Judie spent the last few years of her life at Pineview in Fredonia. We would like to thank the amazing staff and residents of the facility for welcoming her, taking such good care of her and making her family. Thank you to all of the Social Workers and Nurses who made all of this possible and to the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice who provided such wonderful care and comfort during a difficult time.
