My condolences to the family. Judge John’s infectious smile, cheerful, robust greeting and stout handshake often helped cut through the dark and gloom of the Courthouse halls.

It was in Judge McCormick’s Court room, where I met my husband David McCormick. I was a reserve juror and David was a law clerk.
Judge McCormick made jury duty fun. His non-verbal communication kept us on our toes. I remember him raising his eyebrows on certain occasions and of course always his cute little Irish smile. He made us feel part of his court room family.
A year and a half later, David took me back to the Judge’s court room and proposed.
Just a FYI, I was telling Pearse our 6 year old son about you and he asked, is daddy going to be a judge like Judge McCormick? Time will tell.
Thanks again for the great jury memories and for future McCormick memories to come. You will always be in our hearts.

My sympathies and thoughts are with you and your family in this time of loss. Although I met your father only briefly, I know his son, and he has been a dear and good friend. That is Judge McCormick’s legacy.
