Jon was a dear friend. I will miss him terribly. Quick wit, warm heart and an intelligence that would send you into a tizzy. It was so much fun to work with Jon onstage and to direct him. I’ll never forget his Sidney Lipton in GOD’S FAVORITE and Knobloch in THE BEAMS ARE CREAKING. Jon was so generous of heart. That is perhaps my deepest memory of him. Always willing to help, to listen, to feel with you. God bless you, Jon. I love you.

Yesterday I learned of the death of my dear friend and fellow artist, Jon Layton. Jon was an amazing actor and brought his talents to many of my dance concerts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by his eloquent and touching interpretations of poems and various writings we used as narratives to the shows. Watching Jon in action on the stage took us all away to another place with him. He had the gift to make us laugh and cry at the same time. His death leaves all of us with a sense of loss and silent grief.
In honor of his passing, we offer up our dance: “Cloulight”, which depicts the passing of a soul from this world to the next. We will always love you Jon, and we will see you in the hereafter.
