Have a lot of great memories of Grandpa/John but one that sticks out was at my sister’s (his granddaughter’s) wedding back in 2002. Grandpa was always keeping busy, fixing something, or playing cards/sheepshead when I was child. He was always very caring, but rarely showed emotion one way or the other to us grandchildren. At the wedding he completely broke down in tears during the ceremony, which in turn I did as well seeing him in this moment. Asking Grandma after the ceremony if this was new, she said “he does this all the time”. Wasn’t sure if she was joking or not, but it was funny nonetheless and a fond memory we have. We love you Grandpa and we’re very happy and proud to spend many years with you. God Bless.
