Passed away November 9, 2016 at the age of 100 years. Preceded in death by Gertrude, his loving and devoted wife of 68 years. Loving father of Mark (Patricia), Ken (Sue Mackowski) and John (Sandy). Grandfather of Steven, Michael, Frank (Lizz Stringfield), Peter (Erin), Johanna (Emiliano Ricciardi), Bob (Lia) and Anne (John) Fieberg. Great-grandfather of Carrie, Ray and Zoe Fieberg and Cora. John was preceded in death by his sister Alice.

Visitation will take place at the FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday November 15, from 9-11AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM. Interment at Highland Memorial Park.

He was born on the family farm in what is now the City of Franklin. His father died from an accident on the farm in 1927 when John was 11. John left school to work on the farm and neighbors’ farms to support his mother and sister. In 1937 he went to work at Miller Brewing Co. until his retirement in 1978. John served in the U.S. Army, 1st Calvary 8th Regiment from 1943-1945 in World War II and saw combat action in New Guinea, the Admiralty Islands and the Philippines. He earned 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. John was longtime member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Disabled American Veterans or Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, West Allis.
