John Friedrich Goetz

John Friedrich Goetz passed away on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on June 4th, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Paul Edward Goetz and Mary Elizabeth Friedrich Goetz.

John worked in Quality Assurance in the pharmaceutical industry for 41 years and thoroughly enjoyed his post-retirement years spent in Milwaukee.  He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish and sang in the gospel choir. He loved volunteering in the area with the House of Peace, Habitat for Humanity, and active involvement in the Common Ground. John loved playing golf and pickleball, traveling, going on walks with his friends, and being a grandpa “Papa John”. His smile and laugh would brighten any room he was a part of.

On June 27, 1981 John married Mary Ann Hayden Goetz who preceded him in death along with both of his parents. Surviving are John’s three children, Stephen H. Goetz (Liz), Cheryl A. Goetz and James P. Goetz (Joanna); his three grandchildren Victor, Max, and Maryn; his sister Kathy Saiia (Tony); and his brother Bill Goetz (Isabel). He is further survived by his significant other Jamie McCreery, other relatives and friends.

Visitation Thursday, April 30th at Heritage Funeral Home 1901 N Farwell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM Friday, May 1st at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 1937 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53212.

Memorials may be directed to the American Brain Tumor Association or the National Brain Tumor Society.

    So very sorry for our loss. John was such a good friend. I really enjoyed playing golf with him and some of the laughter we had. He will always be remembered as a person that was so upbeat with such a pleasant air about him. I will pray for him tonight.
