John Curran
John Curran, age 61, of Milwaukee, WI, died peacefully on August 5, 2025 after a very blessed life.
John was born on December 4th, 1963, to British parents Charles and Sheila Curran at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his family lived in Whitefish Bay, WI.
In 1970, at the age of 6, his parents returned with the whole family to the UK for his father Charles’s international work for the Milwaukee-based Allen-Bradley Company (now Rockwell Automation), where he grew up in Bedford UK.
In 1981, at the age of 17, John and his whole family returned to Milwaukee, WI, from Bedford, UK, where the family settled and lived in Shorewood, WI.
John followed in his father’s footsteps and was employed in the industrial controls and automation industry, which took him back to living in Bedford, UK, and then Houston, Texas, Evanston, Illinois, and Chicago, Illinois, ultimately returning him to spend the rest of his life in his home town of Milwaukee, WI, a city that he loved dearly.
John was the baby of the family and brother to Maureen, Patricia, Helen and Cathy.
John was a highly intelligent gentleman with a wonderful comedic British sense of humor who accumulated long-lasting friendships with people from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Family and friends will miss John tremendously, but they feel extremely grateful and blessed to have had John in their lives.
John returns to God in heaven and to reunite with his parents, Charles and Sheila Curran sisters Maureen and Cathy, nephew Matthew Turpin, grandparents Charles and Lily Curran, Patrick and Sarah Farrell and all his aunties, uncles, cousins and friends that had gone before him.
John is survived by his sisters Patricia and Helen; nieces and nephews Sarah O’Brien-Natario, Daniel O’Brien, Kate O’Brien-Rose, Roya Darling-Chomer, Lisa Darling, and Daniel Turpin and his great nieces and nephews, Ender Natario, Theodore Chomer, Desmond and Bernadette Rose, Artemis and Camilla O’Brien.
John’s family will have a private Funeral Mass, followed by the committal service and entombment in crypt #3, Tier A Corridor-Grace, next to his mother, Sheila, inside the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum located on the grounds of St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I am saddened to hear of the loss of dear John. I was a close friend of Maureen’s in high school and college. Recently, I discovered that I live in the same building as John. We sat by the pool recently, several times, and chatted about many things. I looked forward to seeing him , and continuing the connection lost with the family many years ago. You all have my deepest, heartfelt sympathies!!!
