Jeanne Carol Steinbrecher

As part of God’s plan for her eternal election, Jeanne Carol (nee Helmke) Steinbrecher was born to William and Lucille (nee Schnabel) Helmke on August 16, 1950, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was the first of three children. God kept his promise and adopted Jeanne into His family by the means of Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids (rural Stratford) , Wisconsin on September 10, 1950. After being instructed in the fundamentals of Christian faith, Jeanne proclaimed her faith in the Triune God as her Savior and confirmed her Christian faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on May 31, 1964. Her confirmation passage was Revelation 2:10b “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee the crown of life.” By the grace of God, Jeanne vowed to remain faithful to her Lord until death; a promise the Spirit empowered her to keep all her life.

The Lord led Jeanne’s life and that of Mark Donald Steinbrecher to come together. On July 12, 1986, they promised to remain true to each other as husband and wife and were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego, Wisconsin. The Lord blessed them with almost 28 ½ years of marriage. He also blessed them with one daughter, Jaime (and Matthew) Drewitz, and two grandchildren Johanna & Elnora Drewitz.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law and her grandchildren; her sister Debra (Anthony) Sulko and her sister-in-law Rhonda Helmke; her godson: Adam (and Nikki) Sulko and her goddaughters: Heidi (and Tom) Ortman, Laura (and Jason) Pahl, Sara Sulko and Julie (and Chase) Robels; her in-laws, Donald and Patricia Steinbrecher, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark; her parents William and Lucille Helmke and her brother Steven Helmke.

Jeanne attended Lindberg School and Stratford Public Schools, graduating in 1968. Highlights of her adult life included: attending Wisconsin Lutheran College and Dr. Martin Luther College (graduating in 1972), serving at First German Lutheran School in Manitowoc, Wisconsin for 5 years and then at St. Paul’s Muskego, Wisconsin for 36 years, her marriage to Mark for over 28 years and Jaime’s marriage to Matthew in 2012, and the birth of her grandchildren. For much of her adult life, Jeanne had a love for and was dedicated to instructing young people in the art of Forensics.

Jeanne loved her family, friends, students and especially her husband, child, grandchildren and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Lord kept Jeanne in His family by leading her to use the means of grace that is His Word and Sacraments. On August 7, 2020 at the age of 69 years 11 months and 22 days her soul was carried by God’s Holy Angels to her Savior’s loving arms to live for all eternity.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, August 12 from 10 am to 1:00 pm, Funeral Service 1:00 pm at ST. PAUL’S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, S. 66 W. 14325 Janesville Rd, Muskego.
