Franksville – Janice L. Nelsen nee: Clauer 70, beloved wife of Richard Nelsen passed away at the Mayo Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 after a long battle with a bone marrow disease.
Janice was born in South Milwaukee on November 14, 1938 to Orley and Irene Nee: Zeisse Clauer. She graduated from Union Grove High School in 1956 and received her degree from Racine Teachers College in 1958. On August 15, 1959 at St Louis Church in Caledonia she was united in marriage to Richard Nelsen, they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Janice started her career as a school teacher and later was supervisor of accounting at Racine County Bank, retiring in May of 1984. She enjoyed working at the pumpkin farm and also enjoyed gardening, crafts, ceramics, beading, cross-stitch and spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her husband Richard, children; Kurt of Wind Lake; Chris Lorena of Sturtevant; Kathy Dennis Brown of New Berlin; and Dan Jodi of Franksville, and
nine grandchildren. Janice is further survived by a brother Allan Mary Clauer of Columbus, Ohio, a sister Vicki Bob Niemczyk of Franksville, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and nephew Justin Van Swol.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Oct 14, 2009 at the Funeral Home Chapel from 4 to 7pm with a vigil service at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thurs. 10:00am at ST LOUIS CATHOLIC CHURCH 13207 Hwy G meet directly at the church. Interment to follow at Caledonia Memorial Park Cemetery.
