Janice E
Plumitis

Plumitis, Janice E.
71, Passed away at home Thursday, November 7th, surrounded by her family, after a long struggle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband John of 44 years, son John, daughters Julie and Jill, and grandson Gavin. She is further survived by sisters, Marilyn, Sharon and Kathy along with nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Elsa (Rivest) Stark and her brother Robert Stark.

She met her husband John, at Globe Union where she eventual worked for him. After she left to take another job, John took a chance and asked her out on a first date. They were later married in April of 1970.

After Globe Union, Janice had a many diversified professional experiences and at the time of retirement was an Executive Administrative Assistant at Ceridian.

After she retired, she was an avid volunteer for the Elmbrook Humane Society, where she would take dogs to pet store locations around the area to be showcased for adoption. To her family’s surprise, on the first day of volunteering, she adopted the family’s 3rd dog, Shatzie. She also enjoyed supporting other causes that helped those who were less fortunate.

Janice never met a person she didn’t like. She found it easy to make friends and had a beautiful smile that drew everyone to her. Her family was the most important thing to her. As the years went on, her marriage to her loving husband grew even stronger. She was also active in the lives of her children and grandchild, always offering encouragement, a listening ear, and emotional support through the triumphs and challenges of each of their lives.

The family wants to especially thank Mary with ProHealth Hospice, who showed exceptional care and compassion for Janice during her final stay at home.

Visitation Friday at the LATVIAN LUTHERAN EV. HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, 1853 N. 75th Street from 10-11AM with a Funeral Service at 11:00AM.

Because Janice has always been a caring person, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission for their Thanksgiving meal program.
