Janet L. Mischke

Brookfield – Janet L. Mischke, 65, of Brookfield, died on Tuesday, January 13. She was born on October 31, 1949, in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Rev. Martin and Zelma (Hill) Albrecht. On June 19, 1971, she was united in marriage with Joel Mischke, at Mequon, Wisconsin. Janet graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1967, and from Dr. Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota, in 1971.

During her teaching ministry, Janet served at Salem Lutheran School, Owosso, Michigan, from 1971-1978; Grace Lutheran School, Glendale, Arizona, from 1978-1984; Arizona Lutheran Academy, Phoenix, Arizona, from 1984-1987; and St. John’s Lutheran School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1990-2006. She enjoyed coaching several sports at each of these schools.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters, Janet is survived by one daughter, Kirsten (Troy) Gemoll, of Milwaukee, and three grandchildren, Robert, William and Emily Gemoll. She is also survived by two sisters.

Funeral Service will be Monday, January 19 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, West Allis, Wisconsin, with visitation beginning at 12:00PM and funeral at 2:00PM. A private burial service will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Juneau, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Joel P. Mischke “Helper” Scholarship at Wisconsin Lutheran College or Good Shepherd’s Lutheran School Athletics, West Allis.
