Jane M. Rasmas

Jane M. Rasmas, age 87, passed away August 31st 2014. Memorial Services will be held September 13th at 1:00 PM at Graceland Cemetary 4001 N Clark St in Chicago and Reception following at nearby Deleece Restaurant 3747 North Southport Ave.
Jane was born September 22nd, 1926 in Chicago. She attended Chicago Teachers College and was a public school teacher for over 30 years.
In her younger years Jane was an avid swimmer and was one of the first female lifeguards on South Shore Beach. She kept close with many of her college and teacher friends and frequently met for bridge card games for many years. Jane loved to read, travel, and watch Notre Dame football. She loved her extensive family very much and will be missed by many who knew her.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jessie Harless, Bert (former husband) Rasmas, & son Terry Rasmas.
Jane is survived by Brother William (Marion) Harless, Sister Barbara (the late William) Hennessy, four children Lynn (Santiago) Sy, William (Karin Walker) Rasmas, John (Valerie Kestner) Rasmas, & Marilyn (William) Dunbar. Grandmother of Mary, Olivia, Kimberly, Sara, Jack, Chloe, Ryan, Hunter, Chase, & Reed. Great Grandmother of Madeleine, Bethany, Phoebe, Wesley, & Isadora. Dear friend Karen Schmidt.
