I was serving as principal at Manitoba School in the fall of 2007 when Mr. Fischer was our crossing guard there. We gathered on a crisp September morning on his 90th birthday. Instead of going right in when the morning bell rang, all 600 students got together on the Loomis Rd. side of school and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to a lovely man who cared about his children. I will never forget that moment and a great guy!
Bless you, my friend!
