Gutoski, Hilda T.
Hilda T. Gutoski (nee Keippel), 91, died on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Woodland Manor where she had been a resident for the past four years. Hilda was born March 6, 1923 in Sheboygan Falls. Her parents were the late Tobias and Theresia (Arthofer) Keippel. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was the last class confirmed there in German. Hilda attended the Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1941.
On August 21, 1948 Hilda married Richard P. Gutoski at St. Paul’s Lutheran. She was a member there of the Ladies Auxiliary, taught release time bible classes, worked with the Girl Scouts, and served on the Sheboygan Falls Library board. Hilda worked at the Sheboygan Falls Savings and Loan and then ran their business, Rightway Construction Co. Hilda loved her “bookwork”! She also enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, gardening, music, playing cards, Bridge club, spending time at their cottage on Pelican Lake and wintering at their condo in Naples, FL.
Hilda is survived by her son Michael (Lynn) Gutoski of Milwaukee and her daughter Terese (Chet) Ulickey of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Anthony, Jonathan (Laura), and Carlynn Gutoski, and Garrett, Zachary and Jacob Ulickey; three great-grandchildren, James and Franklin Gutoski, and Shane Lambert. She is also survived by one sister, Ruth (Art Bawden) Voyt of Minocqua and a brother-in-law Clarence Gutoski of Sheboygan.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Richard, one brother John (Hazel) Keippel, two sisters Lydia Wolf and her twin Helen (Charles) Berger.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 730 County Road PPP in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Burial will follow at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her memory for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Hilda’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Woodland Manor for all of their TLC, St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice, and Gail Matenaer for her previous care and compassion.
