Goelzer, Hattie

Called home to her Lord on April 6, 2021, at the age of 100.

Hattie was baptized June 29, 1932, and confirmed March 25, 1934 at St John’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Oakwood Road where she was a longtime member. She later  joined Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee in 1982 where she belonged for the rest of her life. Hattie was a very faithful and active member at church.  She belonged to many Bible studies and enjoyed baking tasty treats for them.

Hattie graduated from West Milwaukee High School on June 16, 1938. She went on to work at Smith Barney for over 40 years.

Hattie loved to travel with her relatives and girlfriends and took many trips across the United States and Europe. She especially enjoyed a trip to Germany.  Hattie was a great cook and loved to try new recipes. She lived at Harwood Place for 15 years where she made many friends.

Special aunt of Betsy (Russell) Willms, David (JoAnn) Goelzer, Karen (the late George) Bahr, Daniel (Lynn) Goelzer , Mark (Linda) Goelzer, Lynne (David) Lemke. Dear friend of Lilli Gust. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Preceded in death by parents Lewis and Carrie Goelzer, and her brother Alvin (Norma) Goelzer.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17,  2021 at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOMES,  9200 S 27th St.,  from 10am -11am with a funeral service at 11am. Interment Independent Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Grace Downtown appreciated.
