Born to Eternal Life on Sunday May 11, 2014 at the age of 86. Gunars was preceeded in death by his wife, Antonija, in 2012. Carrying forth his legacy are his children Daina (Dennis) Miller and Robert (Mary). Loving ”vectevs” of Mara and Anna Miller, Sara (Aaron) Beay, Erika (Ben) Bloedorn, Lia, Krista, Laila, and Emma; great-grandfather of Jaden, Casey, Micah, Rory, Evelyn, and Brianna; brother of Rasma and cousin to Ligita of Latvia, Gunars’ homeland.

Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950, Gunars served in Korea in the 11th Combat Engineer Battallion of the 8th Army. After returning to the U.S., he graduated from MSOE in 1956 with a B.S. in electrical engineering and worked for several Milwaukee engineering firms.

Gunars loved his homeland and was active in the local Latvian community. His service and love will be truly missed.

A Memorial Service will be at at the MILWAUKEE LATVIAN EV. LUTHERAN HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, 1853 N 75th St, Sunday at 2PM. A light lunch will be held after the service.
