GREGORY C. SMITH

BORN 04/01/1963

BORN TO ETERNAL LIFE 03/23/2023

Our dearest Father, Brother, Son, Greg, was taken from this world too soon on March 23rd, 2023 at the age of 59.

Greg was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Richard C. Smith and Marcelline I. Smith.  Greg is survived by his mother, Marcelline, two beautiful Daughters, Megan Anne and Abigail Elizabeth, his Sister, Catherine McLees, Brother in Law, Mark McLees, Cousin Jacqueline Jagmin and Cousin/Fishing buddy, Gregory Jagmin, along with too many wonderful cousins and friends to mention.

Greg loved many things in life; skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, ATV trail riding, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Milwaukee Bucks, Wisconsin Badgers, going up north to St. Germain and tubing with friends on Lost Lake, and having a great time with everyone from the resort.  Greg also loved rock music, especially the band KISS.

Greg worked at MSI, Marking Services, Inc. of Milwaukee, was obsessed with Sasquatch and Flamingos, and was very proud to be a member of a Wisconsin Corvette club, where he cruised on many ventures with friends.  Greg will truly be missed.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the caring staff at Vitas – Ruth Home on 83rd and Beloit, Milwaukee, for the amazing care they provided to Greg and family.

Visitation to take place Friday, March 31st, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at Heritage Funeral Home, 3801 S. Howell Avenue, Milwaukee, with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to help cover funeral costs can be sent to Megan and Abbey.

Rock on, Greg, rock on.

My favorite memories of Greg are from Mark and. Catherine’s annual Halloween parties. He always had the best costume ideas! When our girls were young, he and I would walk the trick or treat route together, keeping an eye on them. We had a lot of fun together and great conversations. I will miss those times, but remember them fondly. Greg, may God wrap you in his arms and keep you. You always had wings in my eyes and now I know for certain that a halo has been added to them. Rest peacefully.

It has been many years since I have seen Greg. My greatest memories with him were in Bay View High school Ski club. Greg loved skiing and hanging with friends. Our annual trips to Devils head will always make me smile. We had this little 3 guy group we called the we bads. You will be missed. I wish peace and love to all

I did not meet Greg until we were both at MATC in Milwaukee. As a classmate of Greg’s in the Printing and Publishing program we formed a bond that lasted to this day. My memories of those years are vivid and am proud to say we were friends for 40+ years. RIP any friend. Until we meet again!

Megan/Abbey, Cathy/Mark & Marcy, we are all soooooo very sorry for your loss. It is still so hard to believe,. as Greg was always so full of life and so hard working; always busy, always working on some project, working out, enjoying his cars, his collections, his time up North… God must have decided it was his time to rest; now he can do so with Dick & Esther. He was soooo proud of you Megan & Abbey, definitely evidenced in all the wonderful pictures you shared. He’ll be with you always as your Guardian Angel. You were both amazing in your care for him these past months since his cancer diagnosis. He was so incredibly lucky to have you both as his daughters, not many could do what you both did,. Sending you all, and the extended family our love & prayers.

I worked with Greg in the 90’s at Image Systems. He was on third shift at the time. We had much in common and our love for St. Germain was one similarity. Today I thought of Greg and am saddened by your loss.
