Germaine A. Sedig

(nee Zajaczkowski)

Born on February 26, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 31, 2026, in Cambridge, WI. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Germaine was the heart of her family, raising two generations with love and care. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Mary Kay Rodriguez; her grandchild, Alice (Kagen) Mantz; and her great-granddaughter, Evelyn Mantz.

Germaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid seamstress, she dedicated her time to sewing and knitting, creating beautiful garments for her granddaughter and expertly handling countless alterations. Her love for musicals and the timeless melodies of the 40’s filled her home with warmth, while she entertained herself with Solitaire on her iPad and the thrill of scratch-off tickets. Germaine’s love of sweets mirrored her gentle nature; she found joy in little indulgences and in sharing those sweet moments with the people she loved.

Her legacy of creativity, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A moment of remembrance will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Mausoleum (7301 W. Nash Street, Milwaukee, WI), with entombment to follow. As we gather to honor her memory, we celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and the cherished moments that will remain forever in our hearts.

A special thank you to Connie, Melissa, and the team at Agrace Hospice for their unwavering care and compassion during Germaine’s final days.

Germaine was preceded in death by her parents Frank Zajaczkowski and Jennie Zajaczkowski, her brother Robert Zajaczkowski, and her son-in-law Jose Rodriguez
