On December 27th the world lost a beautiful soul.
Ethan, you were my first boyfriend and you were my first love. I was lucky to be a part of your world and know you in a way many didn’t. Your complexity was always so intriguing to me. We learn from the people we spend time with and I will consider it an honor to continue to celebrate your life, through teaching others some of the life lessons you have taught me.
Your friends and family need to remember you weren’t only beautiful because of those piercing blue eyes, or your dashing smile, but you were beautiful because of your ability to connect with all of us through your passion of music, love of sports, witty humor and appreciation for life’s little moments.
I will forever cherish thinking about the smile on your face when you played your guitar and piano… because in those precious times, you were in your own version of paradise. That paradise will never be taken away from you. You may have not had an easy time in this short life, but throughout your almost 26 years you have inspired more people than you could have ever known. We are all faced with challenges and demons every day, and if you taught me anything, it is to remember to never take hard work, dedication, and willingness to allow ourselves to be open and vulnerable for granted. Those traits are rare and you excelled at all of them.
Our world became a little more dim on December 27th, but we gained one more angel to help light our paths.
Love always.

Robin and Jeff –
Though there really are no words to adequately comfort you right now, I will still say that I am deeply sorry for your tragic loss. Celebrate Ethan’s life, let yourselves be as sad as you need to be, and hang onto God with both hands.
