Emerence L. Sajdak “Emmy”

(nee Polczynski) Born April 25, 1921. Passed peacefully into Eternal Life August 17, 2012, at the age of 91 years, surrounded by her family. Wife of the late Stanley J. Sajdak. Very loving mother of James (Susan) Sajdak and Suzanne (Gregory) Sakwinski. Loving grandmother of Andrew (Natalie), David, Megan, Benjamin (Paula) and Crystalyn (Zachary) Leonard. Dear sister of Adell (the late Gordon) Murphy. Sister-in-law of Eleanor (the late Joseph) Murphy, and Michael (Josephine) Sajdak. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Em was a pioneer in starting her own business, Accurate Office Service in the Plankinton Arcade in the 1940’s which was a prototype for office support outsourcing. Em was co-founder of Stan’s Fit for Your Feet (Stan’s Bootery) with her husband Stan on Milwaukee’s South Side on 27th and Oklahoma in 1950. Em had many talents. She was an artist, musician, great cook, lover of music and dancing, and a gracious hostess. She was hospitable, warm, and made friends wherever she went.

Em was a woman of faith and believed in the power of prayer throughout her life. Her generosity and kindness enriched the lives of many. She will be truly missed.

Visitation Wednesday, August 22 from 4:30 PM until the beginning of the Liturgy of Resurrection at 6:45 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 3722 So. 58th Street, Milwaukee (So. 58th and W. Forest Home Ave.) Private entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Milwaukee Catholic Home or the Fine Arts Departments of Pius XI or Marquette University High School. Special thanks to the loving and caring staff of Milwaukee Catholic Home.
