Eleanor B. Elczuk
Eleanor Ellie B. Elczuk, 87, Muskego, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008, as a result of a brain lymphoma.
Ellie was born on August 26, 1920, in Crystal Falls, daughter of Oscar and Ella Fredrickson. She grew up on Stager Lake and graduated from Alpha High School. Following high school, Ellie attended cosmetology school in Detroit. She worked at a solon in Iron River until her marriage to Carl R. Elczuk on October 23, 1941 in Kenosha, WI. She then resided in Milwaukee, raising three daughters and actively participating in church and social organizations.
She returned to the UP upon retirement and resided in Alpha for 26 years. During this time she served as President of numerous organizations, to include the VFW Post 7569 Woman’s Auxiliary, the Alpha Senior Site Council, the United Methodist Women, and TOPS Club 1072 of Crystal Falls. She also served as the Ad Council Secretary and Chairwoman of the Pie Social for the Christ United Methodist Church. Additionally, she served as Trustee of the Alpha Village Board.
In 2001, Ellie moved to Muskego, WI and resided at the Regency Senior Housing complex where she participated in numerous activities.
She is survived by her husband of more than 66 years, Carl Elczuk; three daughters, Darlene Dave Miller, Cindy Elczuk, and Dee John Gnas; sister Gwen the late William Harling; brother Donald Gloria Fredrickson; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her brother Myron the late Pauline Fredrickson. Sister-in-law of Chester the late Marie Elczuk and Angeline the late Edward Broadus.
Visitations Tue., August 5th 9:30-11AM with funeral services at 11AM at Christ United Methodist Church Internment at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, MI.
