Edward J.
Slattery

Slattery, Edward J.
Wednesday, January 22, 2014 age 43 years. The world lost one of its most compassionate and loving souls with the passing of Ed Slattery. He battled head, neck and throat cancer with strength and perseverance. He was an inspiration to all those around him, and his faith in the Lord strengthened him each and every day.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Lisa (nee Gill). Proud dad of Sean, Ryan, Kevin and Eddie. Devoted son of Mary Ann and the late James Slattery. Dear brother of the late Thomas (Teri) Slattery, Michael (Kimberly) Slattery, Richard (Laryn) Slattery, Julie (Rand) Martin, and Scott (Cathleen) Slattery. Son-in-law of David and Carol Gill. Brother-in-law of Mark (Barb) Gill, Kathy (Mike) Fritsch, the late Jerome (Kim) Gill, Mike (Margaret) Gill and Paul (Darlynn) Gill. Further survived by many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Ed always went the extra mile to be a good Samaritan and make everyone feel welcome. He loved heavy metal music and competitive sports, especially basketball. This love of sports drove him to dedicating 15 years of his time coaching youth sports. Coach Slattery has touched the lives of hundreds of kids. Ed was employed at Sigma Aldrich Chemical Company. The family sincerely appreciates all the support from family and friends. We would like to thank everyone at Zilber Hospice for their wonderful care as well as Dr. Stuart Wong, Dr. Schultz, Dr. Christopher Long, Dr. Perry Ghould, and Dr. Taylor for their ongoing care for Ed.
