Dr. Gilbert J. Brickler, Jr., (80) passed away surrounded by family July 22, 2025.  Born in Milwaukee, WI January 2, 1945 to the late Gilbert and Irene (Moeller) Brickler.  Proud father of sons, Kevin Brickler and Brian (Brooke) Brickler.  Good friend/former spouse of Diane Brickler.  Adoring Grandfather of Adele, Brayden, Crosby & Cameron.  Cherished brother of Kristine (Dr. Paul) Hoell.  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Gil was blessed with many, many lifetime friends.

Gil led an accomplished life:   A graduate of Pulaski High School (63) where he played varsity quarterback.  He then spent a year at New Mexico Military Institute before being accepted into the United States Naval Academy.   He played football on Navy’s 150lb team and upon graduation in 1968 served as a pilot and flight instructor in the Advanced Jet Training Command.   After his service to the Navy, he attended Marquette Dental School (class of 76) and served as a Dentist in Milwaukee and Hales Corners for 44 years.

Gil enjoyed boating and sailing and after spending many summers at Lake Beulah, became a member of the Yacht Club in 1993 where he introduced his young sons to a lifetime of sailing.   The tradition of sailing is now enjoyed by all 4 of his grandchildren.  Gil crewed on a C boat (B-6) for over a decade.   Gil was an avid Handball & Racquetball player and later in life switched to Tennis.  He continued to play tennis and golf at age 80.

Burial service:  1pm on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery; 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182.  Celebration of Life to follow from 3-6 pm at Lake Beulah Yacht Club; N9220 East Shore Road, East Troy, WI  53120

    Gil was out friend and neighbor in Bay View.
    The best fun memory was the boys being late ish for school. And he would reluctantly take them in his car driving fast..and loudly saying ” this is the last time and I mean it..
