Douglas H. Mettelman, D.D.S.

Died on March 8, 2021 at age 90. Douglas was a loving father, and a devoted husband to Suzanne (Krebs) Mettelman for 62 years until her death in 2015.

Survived by his beloved children Deborah (Stephen) Hogan, Douglas (Laura) Mettelman, Mark (Dana) Mettelman, Jane (John) Stoneman, and Timothy Mettelman; grandchildren Shannon and Sean (Eliza) Hogan, Matthew (Mary Catherine), Robert (Elizabeth), and William (Margaret) Mettelman, David (Erin) Mettelman and Lindsey (Jon) Mahram, Michael, Anna, Lauren, and Katherine Stoneman, and Molly and Suzanna Mettelman; great-grandchildren Hudson and Camden Mahram, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Walter H. and Dorothy Mettelman, and his sister, Diane Mettelman, who died in infancy.

Douglas was a 1948 graduate of Wauwatosa (East) High School. He attended Amherst College, Northwestern University, and Marquette Dental School, graduating in 1957. Douglas served in the Public Health Service in Lexington, KY for two years before entering private practice in Wauwatosa. Douglas was an avid tennis player, golfer, fisherman, and a voracious reader with remarkable intellect, wisdom and wit.

Dr. Mettelman will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A private Mass of Christian burial and inurnment have been held by his family.
