Vis, Dorothy A.
nee Shimick Sept. 20, 2008 age 95 yrs. She is loved and survived by her son Steve Debby, Rio Rico, AZ, daughters Annette and Bernadette John Mendoza, grandchildren Daureen Sinner Tim Irwin, Darleen Denny-Glass Tony, Christopher Lisa, and Barry Valerie Vis, Dawn Hanley, Gregory Joie Mendoza and Dionne James Neuman, and 10 great-grandchildren. Further survived by sister Emily Ford and devoted friend and sister Julia Jastrowski, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Tues. Sept. 23, 5-7pm at the funeral Home. Private interment Good Hope. Dorothy was a beloved clerk at Handshke’s Food Market, a school crossing guard for 21st Street School and a volunteer at Father Gene’s HELP for the Elderly for 15 years. She will be missed and remembered for her love of family and kindness to all. A special thank-you to the staff at Golden Living Silver Spring Alzheimer’s Unit for their care.
