Dolores M. Buttitta

Born to Eternal Life April 21, 2024, age 82 years.  Beloved wife of the late Peter Paul Buttitta.  Loving mother of Barbara Ann (Jim) Job.  Cherished Grandma of Andrew and Christopher. Great-grandmother of Savannah.  Dear sister of Nancy (the late Clark) Boerschinger.  Further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and good and dear friends.

Dolores was a waitress at Ma Fisher’ s and Oriental Pharmacy for many years before becoming the bakery manager at Sendiks on Downer.

Dolores enjoyed going to restaurants and was somewhat of an adventurous eater – willing to try almost anything on the menu.  She was spontaneous, not wanting to make plans too far into the future. She was a “don’t plan, just do” type of person – which helped give her the reputation as the “fun aunt.”

Dolores enjoyed watching sports and would always root when one of the “home teams” were winning, but it was Green Bay Packers football that was her sports passion.  Everyone knew not to disturb her when the Packers were playing.

Dolores was a head-strong woman – there was really no point in arguing with her because in the end, she usually got her way.

Dolores was also a kind person – she lived her faith every day. She would rarely ask for help herself, but she would be the first person to help if she saw someone in need – often giving whatever she had to see others happy. She had a soft spot for animals, especially for her cat, Thumper, who was a beloved companion for her for many years.

While Dolores enjoyed a variety of things throughout her life, it was her faith and her family that meant everything to her.   She was a long-time member of Three Holy Women Parish’s Christian Women group.   She was a devoted wife and mother, but it was becoming a grandmother that really gave her true joy and purpose – the boys were her world.

Dolores will be remembered as an independent lady whose caring nature was an example of how to live life right.  She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
