Derrick J. Milkie
May 12, 1982 – August 12, 2025
Derrick Jerome Milkie passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 43. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin, and remained deeply connected to the people and places that shaped him.
Derrick was a loving father to Savana Milkie-Rivas and Dylan Milkie. He was the beloved son of Daniel and Nancy Milkie, and a cherished brother to Ryan (Na’ysha) Milkie and Caitlin (Bryze) Vetter. He was also the first grandson of Don (Joan) Milkie, and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were brighter because of him.
Known for his unique interests and deep passions, Derrick had an enduring love for antiques—especially vintage coin-operated machines. He could talk for hours about his collections, always eager to share stories and history with anyone who would listen. His enthusiasm, warmth, and generosity of spirit left a lasting impact on those who knew him. He also had a special place in his heart for big cities—the energy, the architecture, and the endless sense of possibility always lit something up in him. Whether exploring a busy downtown or dreaming of his next visit, he was inspired by the vibrance and movement of urban life.
He will be remembered for his big heart, curious mind, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

What a beautiful picture of Derrick. My heart is broken for all of you. For there is nothing worse than losing a child. He is with God now and can rest. God called him home and you will meet again when God calls you home. He is walking next to you everyday, even though you can’t see him. He is with you. 🙏
My heart goes out to your family.
Derrick was special and sweet to talk to. We had lots of conversations on antiques and our love for them.
His heart was always in everything he did! I have so many good memories of him growing up, I remember how Derrick and Matt use to put shows on for us so funny! He was silly at times!
He will be missed by all that knew him.
May he rest in peace.
