Dennis F.
McLaughlin

Dennis (Denny) F. McLaughlin, 80, passed away in his home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.  He was a beloved husband to the late Kathleen (nee Stephens), proud father to Dennis Jr., 51, and doting grandfather to Brianna, 17, Fiona, 12, and Maura, 7.   Caring little brother of Barbara Johnson.
Denny and Kathy spent countless late nights full of shenanigans with their dear friends Joe and Lynette Kiehl, and loved making memories and traveling the world with their friends Bob and Kathy Schultz.
Denny was an avid, albeit mediocre golfer, and spent decades with his mainstay foursome buddies Mike Mendola, Eck Schleicher, and Tom Cary.
He graduated from Washington High School, and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UWM.  He was a long-time learning coordinator at Fritsche Middle School, but really hit his stride in retirement.  He enjoyed volunteering at Irish Fest annually, shuttling the performers to and from the grounds.  He loved puzzles and games of all kinds.  He was an avid card player, and is most likely upset that he cannot attend his weekly sheepshead game at Foxx View Lanes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME 16880 W. National Ave. followed by a service at 3:00pm.

It’s been many years since I worked with Denny at Fritsche Middle School, but I remember his great Irish smile like it was yesterday. Many, many good memories of a great school professional and leader. Thank you, Denny! You are missed!

Denny and Kathy were good friends and next door neighbors for many years. Many good conversations about anything and everything. Some good parties also. It was great having such good neighbors and friends who we could count on for any help and friendship when needed.. We miss you both.

    Dennis
Was a big reason for the success at Fritsche Middle School. He was very professional and always supportive of what was best for students and staff. Dennis was always positive and found away to collaborate with all. I considered him a close colleague. Glad he enjoyed his years in retirement.
