Delores M.
Buckner

Delores Marie Buckner
(Née Willms) passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the age of 92. Born in Oak Creek, WI to Louis and Norma Willms, she was one of three children and belonged to St. John’s Lutheran Church. She worked at Grebe’s Bakery in South Milwaukee. In 1952 she married Gerald Buckner. During that time she helped her parents cater many weddings in the basement of the old Breezy’s Tavern on Howell Avenue, and worked 18 years as a checker for Sentry Foods in Oak Creek. She retired, and with her husband, relocated to northwestern WI for 16 years until his death in 2008. She grew fabulous flower gardens, crocheted and could turn a sandwich into a gourmet meal for one or for 30. An avid sports fan, she supported the Brewers, ‘her’ Packers, and that #14 car of Tony Stewart.

Beloved mother of Darlene (James) Schumaker of Murray, KY, Jeffrey (Janet) Buckner of Union Grove, WI, Ronald (Mary) Buckner of Caledonia, WI, and Scott (Linda) Buckner of Roberts, MT.

Proud grandmother of Linda and Sarah Schumaker and Rebecca (Samuel) Hatton, Jessica (Anthony) Ibarra, Jake, Jedd, Jacklyn, Jaye and John Buckner, Richard (Cassie) Buckner, Steven, Ashley, Brandon, and Christopher Buckner, Stephanie Kruger, Ian (Tracy) Buckner, Cassandra Blair and Ashlee ‘Delores’ Buckner.

She is great grandmother to Jordyn LeCount, Ari Ibarra, Thomas Hatton, Christian Bayer, Briar and Jesse Buckner

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Myron and Louis Willms, and her husband. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends all over WI and numerous other states.

A special Thank You to Waterford Senior Living, Deb and the caring staff of Allay Home and Hospice. You helped Mom in ways no one else could.

She has chosen cremation and to have no services. Her remains will be interred with Gerry’s at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner at a later date.
