Debbie and Jim. I am so sorry. She was a beautiful, quiet young lady. My heart goes out to you and my prayers are with you.

It’s 4:15 in the morning–ten months since Dawn was taken from us–and I’ve been lying down, thinking about one of my favorite people….

Dawn, I miss you so much, but I’m not posting this for you, necessarily; I speak to you on my own.

Instead, I’m posting this in the hope that, going forward, others will stumble upon this memorial, and use it as a reminder to say Hi to you; to stop and revisit a favorite moment that reminds them of you; to pass on the notion that talking to you, and about you, is a beautiful way to keep your memory alive.

I love you, now and for always.

Matt – I hope you are doing well. Today is 1 year since Dawn passed away. I don’t think a day goes by without me thinking of her. I’m filled with sadness and regret. I wasn’t easy on her, I wanted better for her, more for her. Oh how I wish things were so different. I can only hope that Dawn is at peace. Always remember that she loves you, you were so very important to her, it was pretty obvious  I wish for great things for you in your life. Please take care

I always cherish the memories I have of dawn from hs and freshmen year in Madison. Just break some my heart to know I won’t get to see her again someday, except maybe in another world. RIP Dawn.

Dawn was a great friend to me in high school and in college in Madison. We had countless classes together. She had a kind heart and we could talk for hours. I haven’t seen her since college, but I have never -and will never- forget Dawn.

Email from Dawn’s cousin Jonathan Engel: “I cannot imagine what Jim and Debbie, Jason and Jeff, are going through. I just remember a shy, sweeet girl who brightened up Christmas when we were kids. This is a very big sad thing.”
